On Friday, we planned an overnight trip together, which we had decided on Thursday. The trip almost didn’t happen because we pranked some friends by saying I wouldn’t be able to go, so only a few ended up coming with us to Alicia. On our way there, I was frustrated because we had a close call with a truck that didn’t signal when it overtook us—felt like we almost met our maker! Then, we nearly got pulled over by the LTO because I was wearing shorts, but luckily, our driver handled it well, and the police didn’t notice us.
Once we arrived, our friend gave us a tour around their area. We decided to buy some snacks and, in our excitement, chose to go further to “Mayalo”, but the rain suddenly started pouring, and we didn’t have any umbrellas. We got soaked and even felt bad for the kids, who were having a camping day for Boy Scouts at their school.
One thing I won’t forget is having bitter melon for lunch—I didn’t have much choice but to eat it out of politeness. But their fried chicken was really delicious! I had an amazing time, especially because I was with my friends.
