MANILA — The recent onslaught of Severe Tropical Storm Kristine caused up to P110 million in damages to various sea ports in the country, Transportation Secretary Jaime Bautista reported Monday, quoting data from the Philippine Ports Authority. “Sa mga seaports natin ngayon, so far, open na lahat ng seaports natin. Nagkaroon ng mga minor damages doon sa a few airports natin. The report that I got from GM Jay Santiago, is that we are estimating around 100 to 110 million pesos damage doon sa mga sea ports natin,” Bautista said in a Palace briefing.
“Sa Batangas, maliit, there are more that 100 sea ports that were affected by Typhoon Kristine, mga minor damages, but total, aabutin din ng mga almost a hundred million iyong mga damages, which is PPA is now working on to do the repair,” he added.”Kristine” has caused 116 deaths, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) said on Monday, with 39 still missing.
